Jetta's Story
Jetta

Our cats come to us in many ways but none as unusual as Jetta's arrival! You see, Jetta was quite the traveler when she was a baby. She hitched a ride from Lake City to Fernandina Beach in the dashboard of a car — a Volkswagen Jetta! It was quite a project to retrieve this kitten and required a trip to Tom Bush VW. All turned out well and Jetta just celebrated her first birthday and is ready to settle down in a loving FOREVER HOME.

Shepherd

Shepherd is a senior citizen at Cats Angels Adoption Center. He is just over 10 years old with a crooked tail and a cloudy eye. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and our volunteers and visitors agree that he is the most handsome boy with a heart of gold. He is one of the most friendly, lovable cats you will ever meet and stops whatever he is doing to greet you with a leg rub or head butt. Shepherd was spending his time wandering the wharf area in Fernandina, before that is anyone's guess. If you are looking for a sweet cat and cool guy to hang out with, stop by and meet Shepherd! Cats Angels is committed to helping all our cats, especially our older felines find "forever" homes this year and we need your help. If you would like to meet Shepherd or felines of every size and description in our cattery visit our Adoption Center, or call 321-2267 to meet with an Adoption Volunteer.

Cats Angels is committed to helping all our cats, especially our older felines find "forever" homes this year - will you help us do that?

Our Adoption Center on S. 8th Street is open Monday-Saturday, 11 am - 5 pm.

Did You Know?

BLACK CATS in Great Britain are a symbol of good luck. The Scottish believe that a black cat's arrival to the home signifies prosperity. It's a certainty that adopting a black cat can bring you a wealth of joy and companionship.

(And, black goes with everything and makes you look thinner!)

June is National Adopt a Cat month!

Cat rescue not only helps to save cats, but may just improve your life too. If you cannot adopt a cat, please consider Cats Angels Sponsorship Program where you can help us care for cats in need.

Gloria with her new mom.

Gloria meets her new Mom.

Gloria Finds a Loving Home

Gloria, the sweet senior cat who was heartlessly abandoned, now has a loving home in which to spend her golden years. Gloria's compassionate new Mom and Dad saw Gloria's story on our website and drove from Gainesville to adopt her.

On last report, Gloria was lying on a bed next to an open window listening to the birds chirping outside. And she couldn't seem to stop purring.

Hannah

Hannah came to us when her Mom went into hospice care. Hannah misses her Mom very much and is not a happy girl in the busy surroundings of our cattery. Could you give sweet Hannah a quiet and loving home to call her own?

Can You Help Just One?

Cats Angels has adult cats of every size and description who have been with us far too long and we are determined to find safe and loving homes for them this year. If you can take responsibility for just one animal in need, what a difference it would make.

We have many loving senior cats who would so appreciate a forever home of their own in which to live out their golden years. In return they would give loving companionship.

Cuddles

Don't Leave Your Cats Behind.

Cuddles' family moved away and left her behind. Cats are very transportable. If you are moving, please take the little extra planning necessary to take all your family members with you to your new home. Cuddles was abandoned by her first family but has since been adopted and now has a new loving family.

Adoption Day for Toby and Tripp!

These two young littermates were born without eyes. Yet, they can live normal happy lives and have no trouble finding their food dishes, litterbox, and toys with bells or crinkle balls that they can hear.

After spending a short time in foster care, Toby and Tripp met their new mom who will provide them with lots of love and a safe indoor FOREVER HOME. Download our newsletter to read more about Toby and Tripp.

Beth Hackney, Executive Director of Cats Angels, hands over Toby and Tripp to their new adoptive mom.

Stefano

Stefano is blind and was found wandering a grocery store parking lot. He has stolen the hearts of all the Cats Angels volunteers with his sweet personality and beautiful spirit.

Blind cats must never be let outside. They will do very well in your home as long as furniture placement, food and litter box locations remain consistent.

Buddy

Buddy is one of the sweetest cats you will ever meet. He tested positive for Feline AIDS and must be kept separate from other cats.

Feline AIDS is NOT transmissable to humans and is only transmitted between cats by fighting. Cats with Feline AIDS can live long and healthy lives and they only require regular vet checkups and safe indoor living.

All of our cats are special.
Some are more special because they have special needs.

Is your heart big enough to adopt or help support one of these cats?

THE SPECIAL CATS OF CATS ANGELS

Kermit the Frog sang that ‘It’s Not Easy Being Green’ and for some of the Cats Angels kitties, it’s not easy being Special Needs.

All of the kitties at Cats Angels are special to us — Stefano and Buddy are just two that are extra special and looking for their forever homes. Maybe you’re looking for that extra special someone, too.

All of our special-needs cats are listed on the PetFinder website and are denoted by a heart, or by a paw print for declawed cats.

As a rescue group, Cats Angels makes every effort to see to the medical needs of all of the cats in our care. Some require specialized veterinary care. This year we have taken in cats and kittens with special eye issues and digestive problems. It is through your donations that these cats and kittens receive the best possible treatment.
