We also collect empty cat food cans. There is a separate receptable for those.

CAT OF
THE WEEK

Layla

Layla is just under a year old and has a silvery gray tabby coat and green eyes. She is a spunky girl who would rather be off on her own playing and running than be held right now. Layla is a friendly kitty with people and other cats.

Please don’t pass us by because we are…

  • not young kittens anymore.
  • over 5 or even 10 years old.
  • missing an eye or a leg.
  • not ones who make a good first impression.
  • in need of medications.
  • shy – it doesn’t mean we're not friendly.
  • need to be an only cat.
  • FIV+.
  • blind.
  • not lap cats (but may learn to be in a loving home).

We have cats in all of the above categories living at our Adoption Center right now. They just need a chance to become beloved pets in a forever home. The Adoption Center should never be their forever home, but a brief stay before starting their new lives. Visit the Cats Angels Adoption Center to meet all of our special felines and give one the chance to love you.

Walk and Vigil for International Homeless Animals Day.

"International Homeless Animals Day" was commemorated by Cats Angels, Inc. SPCA and Nassau Humane Society on Saturday August 15 with an annual two mile Walk and concluded with a Candlelight Vigil at the Gazebo in Central Park.

Earlier in the month, Cats Angels had received a proclamation from Mayor Boner declaring August as Homeless Animals Month in Fernandina Beach.

Help a Senior—Ask About Our
RED COLLAR KITTIES

Seniors Toffee, Piper and Rachel are
dreaming of having loving forever homes
in their senior years.
These are a few of our senior kitties who have been with us the longest. When you adopt an adult cat you know what their personality is and can pick a compatible companion. Older adults are much calmer and require less work than a kitten, and they are truly grateful for some love and comfort. You will have a grateful, loving companion!

Our friends at KDI Homes will donate the adoption fee for senior cats to qualified adopters.

Fill out our Adoption Contract.

We Need You!

Are you lucky enough to have a black cat?
In Great Britain black cats are a symbol of good luck. Scotts believe that a black cat in the home signifies prosperity.
(And, black goes with everything and makes you look thinner!)

Always think how you would feel if you were treated the same way you treat your pet — MAKE THAT A LOVED FEELING!

Be Patient With Your New Animal Companion. Please give an adopted pet time to adjust to you and its new home. He/she may be confused, depressed, anxious, frightened — just as you might with a major life change.

Moving? Be selective and only consider homes that allow pets. Pets are not disposable!

Moving a Distance Away? Don't abandon your pets! Ask your veterinarian, or Cats Angels, for advice on how to transport your animal companions to your new home.

Planning a Family? Before adopting a pet, make a committment not to abandon it when a baby comes! Children and pets belong together!

Allergies? Visit our adoption center to determine if you might have allergies before adopting a cat. Bring the family. Save an animal the stress and confusion of being adopted and then returned.

Can You Please Help Just One?

Cats Angels has adult cats of every size and description who have been waiting patiently for their new life for a long time and we are determined to find safe and loving homes for them this year. If you can take responsibility for just one animal in need, what a difference it would make. We have many loving senior cats who would so appreciate a forever home of their own in which to live out their golden years.
